Ossewa, Pieter Rischmuller, AKA Piet Pompies, with the brown bowler hat,
decided in 2014 to spread his wings, discover new horizons, experience new
adventures and set the world on fire singing, and entertaining audiences with
his foot-pounding, pulsating, body-swinging songs and witty, sparkling stage
personality. Piet Pompies is not only a singer / songwriter, radio
personality and joker, but also an excellent auctioneer and MC for all
occasions as well as a keen golfer. He made his debut as a radio presenter in
1996 and later also a sports commentator, before taking on the music industry
with the group, DJ Ossewa. In 2014, Piet Pompies decided to conquer the world on his
own steam, with songs such as Briljantjie, Jou Lyf is soos ‘n lovesong, Fynbos,
Engeltjie, Hard to get, and Hoop. His first solo album titled “SOLO” was
released in October 2014, and is played on various radio stations across the
country. His English songs “Show me more” and “3 Words” are also
played on radio stations in the USA and Australia, NZL, and Europe. His last album was released by VONK Musiek under his real
name, as Pieter Rischmuller, and once again Pieter Rischmuller alias Piet
Pompies, put hits on the album. 4 of the album’s songs were already No.1 on
several radio stations’ Hits parade. Look out for new songs like soos “Bring net jou sussie
saam”, “My Harlekyn”, “Jakkals Dans Vanaand”,“Somertyd”, “Goodbye is net vir
nou”, “Supercalifragilistic”, “Kliphard vir jou geval”. In his 23 years in the
entertainment industry, he has written many popular songs, and is currently
working on his new album in 2020. Pieter Rischmuller decided to show the world that there is
much more in him than just the upbeat party songs for which he became famous.
He has already created a head-turning song that speaks to your soul, with his
own creation “Cry on my shoulder” which is already available in digital form,
as well as Youtube. The song has already received international recognition and
is played worldwide. Then he also recorded a nice cheerful party song with his
namesake Pieter Smith (Stukkie vd Merwe), with the title “Wie se Brannewyn”. His new album has a more modern Country Rock touch and
promises to once again show why he is regarded as one of South Africa’s music
legends by audiences across the country.
